Before making a purchase from Sam's Club, departments should check the Show Me Shop catalogs for the item(s) needed, or consult with a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to determine if another option for purchase exists. If no other source is available, orders may be placed following the campus specific processes.

Columbia

IN-STORE PURCHASES (Preferred for Columbia)

If you have a need to make an in-store purchase at Sam’s Club, they will NO LONGER provide a temporary card at the Service Desk.  You MUST check out a Sam’s Club Membership Card from the UM Procurement Office located at 2910 Lemone Industrial Boulevard.  The Procurement Office hours are 7:30 to 5:00 each day. 

When you check out the card, you MUST provide your contact information including mobile number, and the card MUST be returned AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after the purchase is complete.

You MAY ONLY use your university issued OneCard for the purchase.  DO NOT redeem any Sam's Cash.  PERSONAL PURCHASES ARE NOT ALLOWED using the University’s Sam’s Club Membership Card.

ON-LINE PURCHASES

UM Procurement no longer supports a Master account for an online purchases.  If your department has a regular and consistent need to make online purchases from Sam's Club, your department may elect to purchase a Sam's Club Business Account. 

If you encounter problems with your department Business Account, UM Procurement may not be able to assist.

Kansas City

ON-LINE PURCHASES

You may still make an online purchase and either pick up in store or have delivered to your office location.

If you have a need to make an in-store purchase, and your department has a University issued Sam's Club card, you may make purchases from any Sam's location.  Sam's Club is no longer printing and providing additional cards.  If you have one, you may still use it.

NOTE:  You MAY ONLY use your university issued OneCard for the purchase.  PERSONAL PURCHASES ARE NOT ALLOWED using the University’s Sam’s Club Membership Card.

St. Louis

ON-LINE PURCHASES (Preferred for St. Louis)

You may still make an online purchase and either pick up in store or have delivered to your office location.  When submitting an online order include your name (or the name of the person picking up the order) in the Additional Pickup Person field.  This will let Sam’s Club know who is picking up the order.  Contact Procurement for the online account name and password.

Be sure and select the Mark all eligible tax-exempt items to avoid being charged sales tax.

Multiple people have access to creating an online order.  Make sure only your items are in the cart before checking out, otherwise multiple orders may be combined.

Note:  If you choose to have your order delivered to your office location. the University’s Plus Membership allows for Free Shipping up to a total of 10 addresses.  Once that is exceeded, you may be charged shipping fees.
